Mississippi firefighter dies

Firefighter Sally Renee Clark, 49, a five-year veteran of Pleasant Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, was participating in engine operations training and a fire department fundraiser at the fire station on Saturday, April 16, when she collapsed from an apparent heart attack.

Her co-workers used CPR and the department's AED to resuscitate her while paramedics were en route. Clark was taken to South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, where she died two days later.

Firefighter Clark was married to Pleasant Ridge Fire Chief Billy Clark. Her funeral service was held April 20 at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Ellisville, Mississippi.
