Amanda Beck

Amanda ("Mandi") Hadfield Beck, a volunteer firefighter/EMT with the Lehi Fire Department in Utah, died on February 17, 2006, from complications due to cancer. She was 27.

The first woman ever to pass the department's physical abilities test, Beck became the LFD's first female firefighter at the age of 21. She was very active in several of her fire department's committees. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2003 and was told she had three months to live.

She married her husband, Jacob Beck, that same year. He is also a Levi firefighter.
