Garvin was flown by LifeFlight to the University of South Alabama Medical Center, where she died on Thursday afternoon.

Garvin, who had been a volunteer with the department for about a year, was 19 , and had graduated from Fairhope High School this past spring. Her memorial service was held on Saturday, December 17.
