Terri Eiland

Firefighter Terri Eiland was killed on March 21, 2004, while responding to a fire in some woods in Jackson County, Mississippi. Eiland was driving an engine to the scene and apparently lost control of the vehicle. It overturned, pinning her in the wreckage and injuring another firefighter in the vehicle. Eiland died later at a local hospital. No information was immediately available about the other firefighter's condition.

Eiland, who was 40, was a member of the Franklin Creek-Forts Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
