Job Description:

Fire Recruit is a training-level classification used for the 16-week Sacramento Regional Fire Academy. Incumbents undergo a formal training program in the Academy where they receive basic training in fire fighting methods, equipment operation, medical aid, and physical fitness. This Academy must be completed even if similar training has been completed elsewhere.

Upon successful completion of the training and graduation from the Academy, the Fire Recruit will attain probationary status as a Firefighter with a monthly salary range up to:
$6,195 (based on a 56-hour work week.
Which includes incentive pay for paramedic and/or educational achievements.
