"Courage and Commitment: A Capital Experience"

The 11th International Conference of Fire Service Women

Women in Fire Leadership: Wildland Fire

Members of the wildland fire service who are registered for the conference are invited to participate in a special afternoon of meetings and presentations at the Department of the Interior headquarters in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, March 30. There is no additional cost to take part in this event, which offers a chance to discuss specific issues facing women in fire with upper management personnel from the Department of the Interior and the U.S. Forest Service.

The sessions will encourage connections between the field level and upper management levels of the DOI and the USFS. They also aim at motivating and inspiring attendees in their professional development and career advancement, and at sharing tools for dealing with the challenges of being a leader in natural resource management agencies. The format will be a panel discussion with time for questions and answers, followed by a tour of the DOI facilities.

Participants should plan to meet at the DOI Main Interior Building at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30. To register for this event, please check the appropriate box on the registration form.
